Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program is managed by specific provinces or territories targeting workers
- Who have certain skillset, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of the province or territory.
- Want to live in that province, and
- Want to become permanent residents of Canada.
There is a level of autonomy with the province to determine available routes or streams based on the economic needs of the province. As such targeting various groups like students, business people, skilled workers and semi-skilled workers. In some cases, the Provincial Nominee Programs tie back into the express entry program. If a candidate meets the provincial selection and eligibility requirements they may obtain 600 points which is then added to the express entry score they already have.
